Background: Extravasation injury is the most common complication of intravenous therapy in children. Research NICU at UK, found extravasation caused skin necrotic 38/1000 neonates, 70% preterm neonates. injuries and their sequels can be more serious morbidity than underlying disease, potentially for amputation. The research objective was to determine factors that influence incidence due types treatment modalities pediatric hospital Dr. Soetomo Hospital Surabaya period January - September 2019.Methods: This descriptive analytic with cross sectional approach collected data from medical records. records 44 patients undergoing inpatient ward which brought Reconstructive Aesthetic Plastic Surgery December 2019 reviewed retrospectively. We analyzed patient characteristics, risk factors, wound care modalities, case outcomes.Results: There were cases injury, largest percentage neonates group (34%), male gender (66%), hypertonic fluids / drugs (73%), regions dorsum wrist dextra (17%) used therapeutic modality autolytic debridement (45%).Conclusions: From this study, several conclusions drawn regarding prevalence there a relationship between age, fluid/drug given, location peripheral venous line, whereas not related gender. initial still frequently today debridement.
